The official IRCTC Rail Connect app — the sole gateway for booking train tickets in India — was widely criticized for its confusing interface, slow booking process, and poor accessibility, particularly for first-time users and senior citizens.
Identified Pain Points:
Cumbersome Login: CAPTCHA overload, cluttered layout, unclear feedback.
Overloaded Home Screen: Excess ads, redundant CTAs, no prioritization.
Confusing Train Status Codes: Codes like PQWL/RAC were cryptic.
Fragmented Booking Flow: Multi-step process with no progress indicators or status feedback.
Dated UI: Inconsistent styles, poor color contrast, and small, unreadable fonts.
